Consultation on Chapel End Junior Academy’s admission arrangements 27/28
REAch2 Academy Trust (the Trust), as the admission authority for all of its academies as per the admissions code 2021, is consulting on the admission arrangements for Chapel End Junior Academy. It is the responsibility of the Trust to determine the arrangements for all of its schools, ensuring that they are fully compliant with the admissions code 2021 and other statutory legislation, such as the Equalities Act 2010.
On 22nd October 2025, the Trust Board approved Chapel End Junior’s Published Admissions Number (PAN) to reduce from 90 (3FE) to 60 (2FE). The reduction in PAN primarily reflects the changing demand within the local planning area. The Trust have consulted with the Local Authority who support the reduction due to their own council data indicating a sustained surplus of school places in the area for the foreseeable future.
You can find the proposed school policy for 2027/2028 by visiting: www.reach2.org/admissions.
The consultation will run from 17th November 2025 to 16th January 2026.
We welcome feedback from all stakeholders on the proposed arrangements. Responses to the consultation may be placed by any of the following means:
- By email admissionsconsultation@reach2.org
- Complete the e-form at reach2.org/admissions
- By post Admissions Consultation, REAch2 Academy Trust, C/O Henhurst Ridge Primary Academy, Henhurst Ridge, Burton Upon Trent, DE13 9TQ

Chapel End Infant School Transfer
Chapel End Infant School and Chapel End Junior Academy work in partnership to ensure that the transfer for all the children between Key Stages 1 and 2 is as smooth as possible. All the children spend some time in the Junior School to find out what their first days will be like. Staff liaise across the two schools to pass on information and to prepare an appropriate transfer curriculum. All Year 2 Infants children will automatically have a place in the Junior school, however you still need to fill in the transfer form which you can obtain from the Infants or from Pupil Admissions.
Secondary Transfer
Secondary school transfers are arranged through the local authority. The school passes information to parents about secondary transfer in the early Autumn Term and liaises with families, the LA and schools as required.
Further details, including the right of appeal against a decision, are made clear at the appropriate time.
We work in partnership with our local secondary schools and aim to provide all our children with the best opportunities to be successful as they continue their learning journey.
If you have any questions about transfer we will be more than happy to help.
Please see our admissions policy below for more details about our selection and oversubscription criteria, and our process for dealing with applications.
